Every Spearo will tell you their horror story of losing their dream fish when going out on a trip. This is generally caused by not maintaining your speargun and not checking that everything is working correctly before going out.
HUNTMASTER recommends you go through a quick checklist for your speargun before going out for a dive. You need to check for:
- Mono or dyneema line for wear and tear -Rubbers are in good condition
- Shafts are not bent and tips are sharpened
- Tighten off any D shackles or bolts
- General check over for any issues that may arise after a dive
Advice:
It's always handy to keep a few spare items with you on trips, including spare pre rigged shafts, muzzle bungee, pre rigged rubber etc. You just never know what can happen out on a trip and you certainly don't want to miss out on all the fun and action your dive buddies may be having on the day.
